Reception Centres Report March 2023

In March 2023, 32,559 individuals were recorded in all 7 RCs, with 60% of the total number are children up to 17 years. 2,391 families 7,275 (individuals) of new arrivals were registered in all active Reception centres across 5 LGAs (Bama, Dikwa, Gwoza, Monguno and Ngala) in Borno state which has been increased by 63% HHs as compared to February HHs. Out of 11,531 families only 6,234 benefitted from in kind food distribution in Banki, Bama, Gwoza and Pulka Reception Centres. There is need to have the biometric registration for the new arrivals before been register by the ETT team.
In comparision to all the RCs Gwoza hosts the highest numbers of IDPs in reception centres with Pulka ward accomodating 5,006 families with 12,296 individuals while a further 1,232 families with 3,652 individuals have taken shelter in the Gwoza RC.  As much as efforts of decongestion are still ongoing, the situation on ground calls for concerted efforts by all stakeholders to ensure improved living conditions of those affected and received across all the 7 RCs. In Ngala there are 1,712 families with 4,373 individuals are living in the highly congested RC with a capacity of 100 families.
