This rapid guide developed by the Global Child Protection Area of Responsibility and Alliance for Child Protection in Humanitarian Action in collaboration with several sectors, including the Global CCCM Cluster, supports all humanitarian workers to confidently recognise and safely refer child protection concerns in humanitarian contexts.
All humanitarian workers play a crucial role in ensuring children experiencing or at risk of harm have access to available, appropriate support. In our work, a humanitarian worker may become aware of children experiencing or at risk of harm and, thus, need to act immediately as a part of your role and commitment to the centrality of protection. This guide seeks to help frontline workers across all clusters or sectors meet our responsibility to help children by providing clear, easy-to-follow steps on how to respond when becoming aware of a child protection concern. Recognising and responding to child protection concerns as quickly as possible is essential to limit further harm.
