Regional CCCM and Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Workshop

IOM Mozambique held a regional workshop from 23-28 June 2014 on capacity building programming for National Authorities in camp coordination camp management and disaster risk management for natural disasters. Attending the workshop were IOM staff from Angola, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia and Zambia. The workshop was part of a regional programme funded by USAID to improve capacity for national disaster risk management actors to respond to the needs of displaced and at-risk populations.Check out the workshop agenda! The workshop aimed to improve skills for IOM staff from the region to develop and adapt capacity building programmes with national authorities during preparedness and emergency operations due to natural disasters. By the end of the workshop, the participants had conducted a functional analysis, learning needs assessment, and developed a work plan for their country programmes, practiced developing training modules and tools, given and received peer feedback for sessions delivered and been evaluated on their knowledge of core camp coordination camp management content.For more details, and to read daily recaps of the training sessions, please visit http://mozambique.iom.int/main/regional-cccm-and-drm-workshop-begins/.
